Does your club reach out to all?

THE FA

Community Club of theYear

RESULTS may be the beall-and-end-all for some in the professional game, but so many clubs at level are at the heart of their communities, carrying out so much good work that often goes unheralded.

That’s why we honour those clubs who go the extra mile – and this year’s , in association with Buildbase, are no different.

Once again, the Community Club of the Year Award, backed this year by The , gives us the opportunity to give something back to those clubs who do their bit for their cities, towns and villages.

We want you to have your say and let us know who should pick up the coveted prize at AFC Wimbledon’s plush new Plough Lane Stadium on June 14.

COMMUNITY EFFORT: won in 2020

One thing’s for sure, we’ve honoured and rewarded some pretty worthy winners over the years.

Our Virtual winners in 2020 were club Chatham Town, who stepped up to the plate with a wide-ranging programme of activities to help their community during Covidhit times.

Pleasure

Whether it was to call in to check on the welfare of fans, collecting or delivering food, running errands, focusing on mental health or holding fitness clubs, the Kent club did more than their fair share to show good will.

Chairman Kevin Hake said he was ‘blown away’ by the award, commenting: “It’s a fantastic honour and it’s testament to everyone involved at the club who has tried to help people in troubled times.

It’s lovely to be recognised – I’m blown away by it.

“When we took over two years ago, we wanted to show that the power of sport can change people’s lives. On the pitch, we want to climb up the leagues, but what we do off the pitch gives me equal pleasure as winning three points.”

Like many of our awards, we need you to help us highlight the best of Non-League so we make sure to pick the most deserving winner come June 14.

All you need to do is tell us who you think deserves recognition and why in less than 200 words.
