Brighouse Town bagged bragging rights over Yorkshire rivals Whitby with a convincing 4-1 win in their final pre-season friendly before next week’s curtain-raiser in the Northern Premier League – East.
First half strikes from Jack Normanton and Elliot Harrison put them ahead at the break.
Brad Fewster pulled a goal back on 73 minutes but Travis Atherton and Bobby Pointon put the gloss on an encouraging display by the hosts.
Also enjoying the afternoon sun at the other of the country were Burgess Hill who won 4-2 at Leatherhead.
