SAM Corne was the Maidstone United hero as two goals in as many minutes settled this clash of the newly-promoted sides at the Gallagher Stadium.
Lennell John-Lewis handed York the lead inside the opening ten minutes and looked like being enough to earn the points until Corne’s late cameo, thanks largely to Jack Barham’s first-half penalty miss.
Corne headed home the equaliser in the 79th minute and, just two minutes later, turned the game around after meeting Roarie Deacon’s centre with an emphatic finish.
