DEBUTANT Michael Woods was on the scoresheet as title favourites South Shields eased to a routine victory over Stalybridge Celtic, who were playing under boss Chris Willcock for the first time.
Wood’s goal gave the home side the lead after the first 45 minutes, before substitute Joao Gomes sealed the three points late on.
