A SUNNY afternoon on Tameside brought back not so fond memories for Poppies fans. This fixture on the last day of last season left them just missing out on the playoff places after a 1-1 draw against Curzon. It was to prove another tough afternoon for Kettering Town.
The first half was a very even affair with both teams having good chances.
But it was Josh Hancock who was the man of the moment, latching on to Tom Peers’s knockdown to fire a shot into the top corner. A very even first 45 minutes.
