■ CLITHEROE fully deserved the win against higherranked opposition as they reached the third qualifying round for the first time in 12 years.
Sefton Gonzales was a thorn in the Spennymoor side and he engineered a number of halfchances in the opening minutes. Clitheroe took the lead after 28 minutes when young centre-back Cameron Lancaster received a scuffed cross in the box and leant into a scudding volley to open the scoring.
