■TWO Chertsey Town forwards came within an ace of securing a hattrick each as the host side comprehensively overcame Guernsey to return to winning ways.
The departure of boss Wayne Carter seemed to spark the Chertsey team, into life.
The wonder was how just one goal separated the sides at half-time, a penalty fired in by Billy Montague after 13 minutes, especially as the Islanders were down to ten men after Tom Martin’s dismissal.
