■  BRAD Hird’s fourth goal in five games set North Shields on the way to a first win on the road this season at Pontefract Collieries.
Hird struck on 31 minutes, firing home after Anthony Myers headed Jack Walker’s free-kick into his path. It was third time lucky for Hird who’d raced
through with six minutes played only to be denied by Patrick Boyes’s excellent save.
Jack Shepherd’s header kept out by Finlay Hodgson was as close as Pontefract came to preserving their unbeaten home...
