ASHFORD showed great character to come back from two goals down.
Merstham took the lead in just the third minute, Bryan Zepo converting from the spot.
They made it two just after the half hour, Zepo grabbing his second of the afternoon.
Ashford hit back after 40 minutes, defender Clyde Ondo getting the last touch on a great Danyaal Iqbal free-kick.
It was all square on the hour mark when Ashford were awarded a penalty. The initial spot-kick from Luke Maguire was saved, but Pemi Yakubu tucked home the rebound.
