PAUL SMITH has left NPL Midlands leaders Halesowen Town for personal reasons.
In a heartfelt statement, the Yeltz boss explained the recent deaths of his father and fatherin-law have had a “profound effect” and he’s decided to step away.
Under Smith, who took over in 2019, Halesowen have gone close to promotion to Step 3 – missing out in last season’s play-offs – while they also reached the semi-final of the FA Trophy in 2019- 20 beating Maidenhead United, FC Halifax and Barnet along the way.
