BUXTON defeated Southport in the Sandgrounders’ first home game since the start of October.
Both sides struggled to create in the first half and it took until the 36th minute for the first chance to arrive as Marcus Carver had the ball in the back of the net from a corner only for referee Richard Holmes to blow for a foul among the sea of bodies.
