ONLY one goal in the month of October has seen Brighouse Town slip from fourth down to 13th while leaders Stockton clocked up 31 of a possible 39 points after their away win.
There was goalmouth action at both ends during the first half, but the teams went in level at the break.
But the Anchors led three minutes into the second half.
Lewis King was upended in the box with Nathan Mulligan scoring for the visitors. Orange Army Goalkeeper Michael Roxburgh got a hand to the spot-kick, but it was to no avail.
