MACCLESFIELD retained their four-point lead at the top of the West Division, courtesy of a hard-fought victory over Skelmersdale United.
James Berry’s 31stminute goal proved to be decisive, as the former Hull City winger bagged his 11th goal of the campaign.
Macc had the better of the opening exchanges and deservedly took the lead when Berry slid the ball past the advancing Skelmersdale goalkeeper Sam Ashton.
