■ BARTON’S hopes of leapfrogging their opponents were foiled when they lost at Thame United.
New Barton goalkeeper Josh Mollinson kept his side in the game in the early stages, but the first Thame goal eventually came in the 39th minute as a flick from Jefferson Lewis found its way to Dave Pearce who put it on a plate for Greg Hackett to open the scoring.
After an evenly balanced start to the second half the game looked like it could have gone either way. But it was Thame United who capitalised as David Pearce tapped in the hosts...
