CHEADLE progressed to the third round proper of the FA Vase for the first time since 1984 with a deserved victory over Brigg Town.
The visitors started well and created a number of chances before they took the lead on 16 minutes when the ball fell to Tom Murray on the edge of the box who’s shot ended up in the bottom corner of the net.
Brigg Town had a good spell early in the second half, but keeper Jordan Latham was able to keep them at bay.
