PROMOTION-CHASING Enfield Town struck early on their way to a solid victory at struggling Wingate & Finchley.
The Towners took the lead with their first attack and first corner after just two minutes.
The corner was half cleared and played back in to the far post where a deflected cross was headed home by Lewis Knight from close range.
Stung by the setback, the Blues attempted to get a foothold in the game.
The rest of the half was even, with Enfield hitting the roof of the net with an audacious volley.
