A GOAL in each half completed a comfortable Alvechurch success at struggling Rushden.
Fresh from their excellent FA Cup run to the second round, the visitors forged ahead after only six minutes. Jed Abbey, who scored in the narrow defeat at Forest Green Rovers last time out, found the net again, as he curled home from outside the box past a rooted Dean Snedker.
Diamonds struggled to handle the away pressure throughout the opening period and were forced into a number of last-ditch blocks and clearances.
