ASHFORD UNITED and Chichester City had to settle for a point following a dour battle at Homelands.
The visitors enjoyed the lion’s share of possession in the opening 20 minutes, but couldn’t make it count.
It was Ashford’s Toby Ajala who ran the show from midfield and he very nearly got himself an assist when he picked out a brilliant pass over the top to Omarr Lawson but his shot was blocked.
The home took the lead before the break when Lawson’s header was diverted in by Chichester defender Rob Hutchings.
