HALESOWEN Town went top of the table, but had to be patient as they struggled to beat relegation-haunted Yaxley.
Apart from a couple of corners for the Cuckoos, it was Halesowen who set the first-half pace.
They had numerous good openings, but their best effort came when Mc-Kauley Manning struck the outside of a post with a deflected shot.
Nine minutes into the second half, Manning was heavily involved in the opening goal.
