THE future of Scunthorpe United has been cast into further doubt after two potential buyers pulled out of a deal to takeover the National League strugglers.
Former Port Vale chairman and owner Norman Smurthwaite was believed to be one of the parties interested in buying the Glanford Park club but this week declared that he is not interested.
Also in the race was a consortium headed by former director Simon Elliott and businessman Ian Sharp but they too have withdrawn from negotiations.
