THE Shrimpers Trust, the Southend United supporters’ group who gave the club £40,000 in November to help meet wage costs, says it does not expect the club to meet a deadline for repaying the loan to pay non-playing staff members.
The Trust handed over the money in November to be repaid in three months.
But the cash-strapped National League club are facing an HM Revenue & Customs winding-up petition on March 1.
