HYTHE TOWN eased their relegation concerns as they edged to a narrow win at home to Whitehaw.
It was the Cannons who finally broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute when a cross from the left by Shad Ngandu found the head of Liam Smith at the near post.
His glancing header sent the ball past Whitehawk keeper Luke Glover and into the net.
The hosts did not have many scares until the 80th minute when Lex Allan was forced to clear the ball off the line.
