GEORGE Sykes’ first-half goal moved Aveley into second and sealed victory at fourth-bottom Kingstonian.
In their first game under new manager, Simon Lane, Ks were plucky from the start but only rarely threatened to snatch an unlikely draw.
Both sides had first-quarter chances. Ks’ Tyrese Owen fired narrowly wide on 19 minutes and the hosts’ ageless keeper Rob Tolfrey denied Kenny Aileru three minutes later, after a defensive howler.
