Southend United boss Kevin Maher was thrilled to see his spirited Shrimpers end an ‘emotional’ week with a narrow win against 10-man Gateshead.
An early goal from 17-yearold Henry Sandat saw crisis-club Blues record a fourth league win in a row despite their off-field issues.
And Maher was again full of praise for his players who are still waiting for their January pay packets.
