A LEWIS Doyle goal was enough to give Runcorn Linnets victory in a tight game at Kidsgrove.
The game was even throughout with both sides hitting the woodwork in the first half.
Runcorn hit a post after a good counter-attack and grew in confidence. Kidsgrove soon followed suit when Kieran Knapper hit the crossbar.
Home goalkeeper Ryan Brown had a fantastic game, making multiple fantastic saves to deny Runcorn and the home side had a great chance to go in front when good build-up play found Will Saxon in space, but his shot was well saved.
