WITTON Albion lost control of a game they had in their grip – but were too far ahead for Skelmersdale United to catch them in an eight-goal thriller.
Jon Macken’s men swamped their guests in the first half, establishing a 3-0 interval lead thanks to goals from Joe Duckworth, who scored from the penalty spot, Ben Hough and Jordan Barrow.
Ben Harrison’s header added to their lead to make it 4-0, but then Skelmersdale scored twice in as many minutes through substitute Joe Herbert and Elliot Morris.
