A step down can often be a good thing

ROCHDALE have been relegated to the National League after 102 years of going nowhere in the EFL (Fans’ Forum, June 4). Why should this be viewed in a negative light?
First, there’s the opportunity to renew acquaintances with former opposition from the EFL and the chance to visit pastures new.
Second, playing at a level lower surely allows the club to be optimistic about success; if not next season, then maybe the season after.
