I REFER to John Lyons’ article (NLP, June 4) on the FA rule change to deduct points from Step 7 down for misconduct.
Although this is a start, nothing will improve drastically until the Premier League and FA Leagues start to instruct referees to enforce the laws correctly.
For example, when was the last time a player was sent off for ‘offensive language’?
Overpaid players do not have the right to abuse officials and action needs to be taken against the players and the clubs to solve this.
