MAX SHEAF says he will always owe a debt of gratitude to Redditch United after landing a move to Scottish Premiership side Ross County.
The Staggies have paid an undisclosed fee to sign the 23-year-old on a two-year deal.
Sheaf, who has played in the Championship for Hull City and League Two with Cheltneham Town, joined Matt Clarke’s Southern League Premier Central outfit last summer after leaving Gloucester City and made more than 50 appearances s they finished ninth.
The midfielder, whose brother Ben plays for Coventry City, posted a thank you message on twitter, explaining how much the Reds have done for his career.
“From the manager, the chairman, the kit man, the media team, the boys, the backroom staff, everyone involved, you guys trusted me from the off and gave me that platform to go and express myself.
“You were nothing but positive to me as soon as I came in. I was extremely grateful and the reception from the fan base, I was hugely thankful for that.
“You warmed to me really quickly and, in turn, made it so much easier to comfortable and express myself again.
“Redditch will always hold a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to the opportunity ahead.
“It wouldn’t be possible without Redditch. I will use these experiences that you guys have given me to help become a better player and person moving forward.”
New boss Malky Mackay said: “Our recruitment department identified him as a player of interest to us and he comes as another young hungry talent who wants to commit his future to Ross County FC.”
