WARRINGTON TOWN’S inaugural game in the National League could hardly have gone better as a drubbing of local rivals Southport saw the Yellows end the day at the top of the league.
Warrington may have been reduced to ten men in the 13th minute as keeper Tony Thompson handled outside his area after spilling a long ball, but he only saw yellow for his offence.
Southport had the better chances in the first period, the best coming to Tyler Walton as he chipped over Thompson and into the net only to see the offside flag deny him. The Yello...
