WHITLEY Bay were denied an injury-time winner from the penalty spot, despite Mark Davison sending Whickham keeper Tom Dawson the wrong way from 12 yards.
Davison’s spot-kick found the corner of the net, but only after the sub’s rightfooted effort had struck his standing foot, the potential winner rightly chalked off for striking the ball twice. Callum Munro gave the hosts the lead after 38 minutes, but Bay improved after the break, Cameron Brewis levelling eight minutes in from Josh Gilchrist’s set-up.
