ON AN afternoon where north London was met with tropical thunderstorms, it was fitting that the weather played a role in determining the outcome, as Wingate & Finchley ran out winners over Kingstonian.
The deluge, which begun in the first half and didn’t let up until half-time, soaked the pitch at the Maurice Rebak Stadium and caused an innocuous ball to skid on and bounce higher than expected, right into the arm of Kingstonian defender Matt Drage.
