POTTON prevailed on this drizzly Bedfordshire day, beating a sodden Barking side with relative ease.
The hosts took little time to take the lead after two minutes when a free-kick pinged off a post. It fell kindly for Shane Fox and he tapped home easily.
The lead was doubled after 42, and again it was a free-kick that was the visitors’ undoing. Michael King floated it and found Richard Chadwick, who rose highest and headed in. Lewis Lynn’s strike after 55 put the game beyond doubt after some Cole Butler creativity.
