GOOSE IS COOKED

WHAT was good for the goose wasn’t good for the gander in the shape of the match official who called off the game between Tower Hamlets and Hoddesdon Town at the Mile End Stadium.
The referee cancelled the Eastern Counties Division One South game after finding goose droppings on the pitch.
“Our game was called off 30 minutes before kick off as the pitch had Geese excrement on it,” Hoddeston explained. “Even though both sets of players said they would try to clear the mess up, the referee was adamant the game was off.”
