■ MICKLEOVER beat vis- Ilkeston with a bigiting second-half performance.
The two sides couldn’t be separated at the break. However, John McGrath’s inspired Sports came out to quickly change things.
The half was seven minutes old when Stuart Beavon broke the deadlock, however the momentum didn’t shift as quickly as the score might suggest. After conceding, Ilkeston pressure peaked around the 70th minute as two contentious penalty shouts fell on deaf ears.
