■IT took Brentwood until the final ten minutes to break down a determined Grays Athletic.
For long periods, the home side belied their lowly league position with long periods of possession but they couldn’t find the cutting edge up front to make it pay.
Grays pushed hard after the break but the Brentwood defence held firm. It took the visitors until the 80th minute to break thedeadlock, when substitute Andrew Freeman’s freekick found the net.
