■ HARTLEY Wintney will be the happier of the two teams heading into the New Year after a strong second-half display.
After an even first half, which the hosts may have just shaded, it was the visitors who took control after the break.
Ashford created some good opportunities in the first half with Nathan Rogers going close.
The visitors broke the deadlock just four minutes after the restart, Adam Payce getting the goal.
Conor Lynch sealed matters with two goals in the space of five minutes to complete a tough second half for the hosts.
