■ BOWERS & Pitsea needed a little luck in gaining the win at bottom-side Stowmarket.
The hosts did spring a surprise, taking the lead after three minutes when Ewan Gordon-Clement turned home a rebound after Dylan Kirk’s initial effort came back off a post.
The warning was heeded by Bowers who nearly equalised four minutes later, but Solomon Addy’s free-kick was tipped over.
