HIGH-FLYING North Leigh have been told they are not eligible for promotion this season after failing ground grading regulations.
The Millers were second in Southern League Division One Central before yesterday, looking for an immediate return to Step 3 following their relegation from Premier South last season.
But the club will have to stay at Step 4 next season after their Eynsham Park home did not meet with FA standards.
A club statement read: “This week, we have unfortunately received confirmation from The FA that, due to ground grading requirements, we will not be eligible for promotion.
“We conveyed this to the first-team players yesterday, who are understandably disappointed due to their amazing performances so far this season.
“For the players who have decided to move on, we thank you so much for your efforts and wish you all the best for the future.
“For those who remain, we thank you for sticking by us through these challenging times and look forward to building a sustainable club for the future.”
