Sittingbourne travel to the Reachfields Stadium for Saturday’s match against Hythe Town looking to bounce back from defeat last time out in the Isthmian League Division One South East.
Sittingbourne, who sit third in the league after 26 games, fell to a 3-0 home defeat to Chichester City on February 17.
They face a Hythe side who picked up a win in their last match, a 2-1 victory against Burgess Hill Town, and who sit 10th in the table.
With 60 goals in 26 games so far this season, Sittingbourne are the league’s third-highest scorers with 2.3 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 24 goals at a rate of 0.9 per game.
Hythe are also above average scorers, with 1.9 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.7. They have conceded 1.4 goals per game.
In the last 10 years, Hythe and Sittingbourne have played each other on seven occasions. Hythe won five of them, Sittingbourne one, and they drew once.
On average, the Cannons scored 1.7 goals and Sittingbourne 0.6 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on November 28, when Hythe won 1-0 away.
Town are in disappointing form in the Isthmian League Division One South East, with one win and three draws from their last six games.
With five wins and one loss over that period, the away team’s form is much better – they have taken 15 points from 18, compared to the Cannons’ six.
