CHAMPIONS-elect Stockton put in a solid performance against ten-man Grimsby to extend their lead to nine points at the top of the table.
It took just three minutes for the Anchors to open the scoring, the ball falling kindly to Stephen Thompson who drilled his shot low into the bottom corner.
Liam Higton denied the visitors a second with a strong diving stop when oneon- one with Michael Fowler.
