IF any game deserved to be goalless, this was the one.
Neither side looked likely to break through and it was not down to any superior defending skills.
A series of misplaced passes and all-round sloppy play ruined the match, with Chertsey being the main culprits.
Nick Jupp in the home goal was the busier of the two keepers. He needed to make two sharp saves in the first half.
His opposite number only had one scare after the break when a curling Louis Degand free-kick clattered against the junction of post and bar.
