AFC Dunstable face a challenge to maintain their high-scoring form away against a tight Barton Rovers defence on Thursday.
With 60 goals in 29 games, Dunstable are the top scorers in the Southern League Division One Central ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off at Sharpenhoe Road.
They face a Barton side who have scored 41 in 24 matches, but conceded only 42 goals, putting them joint-fourth among the league’s tightest defences – only Biggleswade Town, Bedford Town and Cirencester Town have conceded fewer goals.
Dunstable are third in the table after 29 games, of which they have won 15 and drawn three, earning 48 points.
Barton are 12 places behind the away team in 15th, with eight wins and eight draws putting them on 32 points.
Rovers are in good form in the Southern League Division One Central, with four wins and a draw from their last six games.
And also with four wins and a draw over that period, Dunstable’s form is identical – they have both taken 13 points from 18.
In the last five years, Barton and Dunstable have played each other on four occasions. Dunstable won all of them.
Their last meeting was on December 3 2022, when Dunstable won 4-0 at home.
Barton’s last match was on March 16, a 3-1 win against Thame United.
Dunstable beat Welwyn Garden City 1-0 last time out, on Saturday.
