Bishop’s Cleeve face a challenge to maintain their high-scoring form at home against a tight Bideford defence on Saturday.
With 63 goals in 32 games, Bishop’s Cleeve are the third-highest scorers in the Southern League Division One South ahead of the 3pm kick-off at Kayte Lane.
They face a Bideford side who have scored 36 in 28 matches, but conceded only 39 goals, putting them joint-fourth among the league’s tightest defences – only Wimborne Town, Frome Town and Hamworthy United have conceded fewer goals.
Bishop’s Cleeve are in reasonable form in the Southern League Division One South, with three wins and two draws from their last six games.
With no wins and three draws over that period, Bideford’s form is much worse – they have taken three points from 18, compared to the home team’s 11.
Bishop’s Cleeve are fifth in the table after 32 games, of which they have won 12 and drawn nine, earning 45 points.
The visitors are six places behind Bishop’s Cleeve in 11th, with 11 wins and seven draws putting them on 40 points.
In the last three years, Bishop’s Cleeve and Bideford have played each other on three occasions. Bishop’s Cleeve won one of them and Bideford the other.
Their last meeting was on December 2, when Bideford won 4-1 at home.
Bishop’s Cleeve’s last match was on Monday, a 4-0 win against Cribbs.
Bideford lost 3-2 against Tavistock last time out, also on Monday.
