Centre-backs Nikola Tavares and Joe Grimwood have become the third and fourth players to sign for last year’s National League runners-up.
Former Brentford and Crystal Palace youth Tavares has spent the last two years at Dagenham & Redbridge. He made 31 appearances in the league last season, including a 1-0 win over Barnet last August.
On his signing, Barnet manager Dean Brennan told the club website:
“Nik is a player I know well. I’ve worked with him before and he has a high footballing IQ.
“His stats are immense; second best defensive duals last season in the league and will bring a calmness to our defence.
“His distribution is brilliant and he reads the game really well.”
Grimwood was part of the Braintree Town side which won promotion to the National League. He was an ever present in his only season with the Essex outfit, scoring four goals en route to their elevation via the play-offs.
“Joe is a really good one-on-one defender.
“He had a fantastic season at Braintree, reads danger really well and wants to defend.
“He’s strong and aggressive; he’s a beast!”
Tavares and Grimwood join Jermaine Francis and Rhys Browne as new arrivals at the Hive Stadium.
