Long-serving defender Callum Davies will leave the Folkestone Invicta this summer after 348 appearances.
Davies made his debut for the Pitching In Isthmian League Premier side in August 2016 on an initial three-month loan from Maidstone United.
He was appointed captain in the summer of 2017, the start of a fine campaign which saw him voted Players’ Player, Supporters’ Player and Young Player of the Year.
In April 2023 he became only the eighth player to reach 300 outings for Folkestone. Davies leaves with the eighth most appearances for the Kent-based club and cited family and work commitments as the reasons for his departure.
Davies told the club’s official website:
“I don’t really know where to start. I joined in 2016, at a point where I didn’t enjoy football and it’s probably been the best decision I have ever made (behind marriage).
“Everyone has always been extremely good to me, and I cannot say a bad word about the club.”
Folkestone finished 16th last season in Isthmian Premier.
