Liam Sercombe and Sean Long have joined National League side Forest Green Rovers from near neighbours Cheltenham Town.
The duo are the club’s first summer signings in preparation for their first season back in non-league after seven years in the EFL.
Both are vastly experienced – Sercombe (pictured) has made 579 appearances in the EFL for the likes of Exeter City, Oxford United, Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town. He scored 11 last term in League One for the relegated Robins.
Defender Long has 226 EFL outings behind him, over 200 for Cheltenham where he was captain for the last two seasons.
Forest Green are managed by Steve Cotterill, who led Cheltenham to three promotions between 1997 and 2002.
Long told the official Forest Green Rovers website:
“I had some really good discussions with the Gaffer and everything he said was something I want to get involved in.
“He made things clear on what he wants to do and the kind of player he wants to bring in.
“It’s a really exciting the challenge and a great opportunity to bounce back.”
