Julian Dicks back at Heybridge

Former West Ham United left-back Julian Dicks has been appointed manager of for a third time.

Dicks replaced Steve Tilson after he and assistant Ashley Millar stepped down on May 24.

The Pitching In North side finished 7th last season, 12 points outside the play-off places. They’ve been at Step 4 since the 2009/10 campaign.

Dicks’ first spell in charge saw them win the play-offs in 2019/19 but they were ineligible for promotion due to changes in the pyramid. He returned in 2021 with Tilson as his assistant, before resigning in September with Tilson taking over.

The former full-back has also managed and West Ham United Ladies, plus coaching stints with the men’s team as well as West Bromwich Albion and Watford.
