Maher’s relieved by takeover deal

KEVIN Maher believes the consortium’s completed takeover of Southend United should be considered among the most important days of the club’s history.
The group of businessmen headed up by Australian Justin Rees, officially took control of the Shrimpers on Friday after months of extreme uncertainty. And head coach Maher is delighted the deal has finally been done.
