A LATE goal for Barnet clinched the win over Hornchurch.
The Bees began brightly, Zak Brady feeding Billy Clifford but his effort from range sailed over the bar.
Urchins keeper Joe Wright was then called into action to smother after a marauding run from Reece Hall-Johnson.
After the drinks break, the hosts had a great opportunity to open the scoring – Femi Akinwande was sent clear, and with just Nick Hayes to beat, the Bees stopper won the battle to save well. That proved to be the brightest moment of an even first half.
